 Connective Tissue Release

What is Connective Tissue Release?

Your Connective tissue (aka Fascia) can be likened to a spiders web that connects and surrounds everything in your body, right down to the cellular level.  It is a continuous structure, from head to toe, that lies under your skin, covers and penetrates every muscle, bone, nerve, artery, vein and all your internal organs.

With this understanding, we can begin to see that our entire body is connected to every other part by the fascial system and why restrictions in one area can cause pain, in not only that area, but also seemingly unrelated parts of your body.

CTR is another hands-on technique, developed by Hugh Gilbert.  It involves applying gentle and sustained pressure into areas of the body with connective tissue restrictions to further alleviate pain, restore motion and return your fascia to a normal healthy, flexible state.

An added benefit to this treatment is that it gently facilities the release of stress and trauma from the body promoting relaxation and enabling clearer thinking. Gentle Massage manipualtion is sometimes needed.

Some causes of connective tissue restrictions include:

Some of the conditions helped are:
  • Injury

  • Inflammatory conditions

  • Poor Posture

  • Stress / Emotional Trauma

  • Surgical Procedures

  • Repetitive Strain

  • Scarring

A CTR appointment also includes a KCR treatment as your connective tissue will release quicker and easier when your body is aligned first.

Note: Connective Tissue Release Treatments can only be booked after an initial KCR session and consultation with your practitioner.
